With the Carpenters’ Union, you have the freedom to travel to any CHANDOS project and you also have the freedom to work with any of the other thousands of contractors we have across North America.
Travelling from one job to another would be compromised.
The Carpenters’ Union pension is overfunded, so you get more in retirement savings than you contribute.
Don’t risk your pension.
Members own every dollar contributed on their behalf with CLAC’s pension.
Under CLAC’s defined contribution pension plan, workers assume all the risk if the market takes a turn. Under the Carpenters’ defined benefit pension plan, your retirement
savings are guaranteed and cannot be affected by an unstable market.
Employees represented by the Carpenters’ Union can no longer contribute to the CLAC pension plan.
CLAC pension contributions can be transferred to a personal pension account, allowing employees to choose their own investments. If you transition to the Carpenters' pension plan, you will not lose any of your contributions.
